Theatrical Training (Outreach)

There are so many people who could benefit from seeing and participating in theatre but who are unable to go to the theatre — our outreach brings the theatre to them.  Theatre Training and Outreach will be the signature program of V&V.  V&V will travel to churches, community Centres and at-risk schools and perform theatre exercises.

Present Activities

Current activities of V&V includes participating and assisting local churches with their youth and Young adult ministries. Most activities include directing Christmas and Easter plays, producing Musicals and new plays about today’s social issues. Currently all new materials are Written by Mr. Elesho. V&V completed two independent film projects entitled “GET WEALTH and MUZZLED” funded entirely by Mr. Elesho.

Planned Activities

V&V believe that children who participate in making theatre learn teamwork, self-confidence, Respect, and the appreciation of artistry. Unlike sports, theatre teaches teamwork without Rivalry — everyone is working together towards a common goal, not against an opposing Team. As mentioned above, V& V will travel to churches, community centres and at-risk schools and perform theatre exercises. We’re not teaching them to be professional actors — we’re using the theatre as a tool to give them a chance to express themselves in a supportive environment and to enhance their confidence through creativity. Trained teaching artists will guide students through master theatre exercises that support communication skills, public speaking, and role playing, thereby enhancing essential 21st century skills such as critical thinking, creativity, and innovation in the classroom. Through the guidance of these professionals, students will also be encouraged to explore a variety of theatre related resources to further develop their theatre education. We will seek grants to fund and operate this program. (An exempt purpose)
